About this event

Instructor: Bailey Sawyer, CFM, Environmental Program Specialist at the Department of Environmental Conservation

Description: Local Floodplain Administrators play an important role in the implementation of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) at the local level. With this role comes many responsibilities including issuing floodplain development permits, reviewing plans for compliance, and completing substantial damage determinations. This workshop can serve as a training for new floodplain administrators or those interested in refreshing their knowledge of the program. During the course, duties of the floodplain administrator will be discussed along with applicable program resources that can assist a floodplain administrator in performing these duties.

CECs/PDHs & Registration fees:

  • Certified Floodplain Manager, ASFPM: 1 credit
  • Code Credit, New York State Department of State: 1 hour
  • NYSFSMA Members: $20
  • All Non-Members of NYSFSMA: $75
